Mercedes' struggles at the Miami Grand Prix have been punctuated by Lewis Hamilton's failure to reach Q3. The seven-time champion will start 13th after a scruffy final lap in the second stage of qualifying, finishing slower than the Williams of Alex Albon and Haas' Nico Hulkenberg. Hamilton's teammate George Russell only just scraped into the top 10, squeezing Albon out by 0.052secs. Mercedes finished 10th and 13th in final practice in a precursor for its issues, though Hamilton was left unhappy with the timing of his last attempt at a final lap - airing his discontent over team radio. McLaren also endured a difficult session with both Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri failing to qualify from Q1. The duo were joined in shock elimination by Aston Martin's Lance Stroll, who was caught out by track evolution at the end of the first 18-minute run.
