An overwhelming majority of F1 fans believe George Russell is deserving of a long-term contract extension at Mercedes.

Russell has not yet put pen to paper, and as of right now, he does not have a deal to race in F1 beyond the current campaign.

RacingNews365 reported earlier this week that Russell has rejected numerous offers from Mercedes as he seeks more favourable personal terms.

This includes the inclusion of a multi-year deal, as well as an augmented salary.

The Mercedes driver added to his win tally last time out in Singapore with a dominating victory - a matter that certainly will not hurt his negotiations.

His latest victory prompted RacingNews365 to ask you, the fans, if Russell should be tied to a long-term deal.

Almost 73 per cent of votes declared that he is deserving of long-term stability at Mercedes, while just under 22 per cent of fans believe he only warrants a one-year extension for 2026.

With Mercedes known to hold an interest in signing Max Verstappen from Red Bull, the Dutchman could present a threat to Russell's drive in the near future.
