Mercedes, the seven-time reigning world champions, will launch their 2021 F1 challenger, the W12, on March 2 the team have revealed. As expected, the event will be broadcast digitally due to the ongoing restrictions in place as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
"Our 2021 contender will be named Mercedes-AMG F1 W12 E Performance," the official statement read. "The designation ‘E Performance’ is the new technology label used in product names and badging on all forthcoming Mercedes-AMG hybrid cars, with the W12 being our first being our first Formula 1 car to feature ‘E Performance’ in its name."
With the announcement, Mercedes become the third team after Alfa Romeo and McLaren to reveal when their 2021 car will be launched.
