F2 championship leader and McLaren junior driver Alex Dunne caused a huge multi-car pile-up at the start of the feature race.
From pole position, Dunne got a poor launch and was beaten by Victor Martins from P2, with Martins having the racing line approaching Sainte Devote.
However, Dunne tried to go up the inside, and as Martins sweeped through, the two collided with Martins being punched into the barrier, as Dunne was then turned into the on-coming traffic.
Richard Verschoor was eliminated after hitting Dunne, with Leonardo Fornaroli making it through from P3 on the grid to become the leader, before the red flags were thrown, with at least 11 cars involved in the incident, although some got going again.
