Oscar Piastri became the second 10-second time penalty recipient at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
Following Sergio Perez's retirement on the second lap the race director enforced the virtual safety car. When the period ended Piastri, who had been spun out by Max Verstappen at the start, hit the back of Franco Colapinto's Williams.
Verstappen got a 10-second penalty for that incident, with the Australian receiving a matching punishment for causing the Argentine a puncture.
Piastri then pitted to rid himself of the tyres he flat-spotted in the process of hitting Colapinto.
