McLaren have confirmed that Mick Schumacher will be available to them as a reserve driver in 2023 as part of an arrangement with Mercedes.
The German was announced in his reserve role at the Silver Arrows in December after being replaced at Haas by Nico Hulkenberg.
As part of his position with the team, Schumacher will undertake simulator duties, marketing duties and be present at all Grand Prix events in 2023.
Alongside this, McLaren – whose engines are supplied by Mercedes – will be able to call on him as a reserve if needed.
Schumacher visited Mercedes' headquarters this week to have a seat fit carried out, meaning that he is prepared for the eventuality of stepping in should one of the team's main drivers be unable to compete.
