McLaren has successfully repaired Lando Norris' car ahead of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix after the British driver crashed in qualifying. The Briton was the favourite for pole position ahead of the top 10 shootout but crashed on his first flying lap. Norris crashed in the high-speed first sector after carrying too much speed into Turn 4, making his MCL39 unsettled as it went over too much kerb at the following corner. He was helpless as his car crashed into the wall on the outside of Turn 6, leaving him down in 10th on the grid. Thankfully, Norris' car has not required a major component change, with his gearbox and power unit having been untouched. As a result, he has not received a grid penalty, although 25 fundamental components have been changed in-line with the technical regulations. Norris faces a tough challenge to recover from 10th at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit, with him likely to lose the lead of the drivers' standings at the end of the race.
