McLaren auction off Norris F1 race suit for special cause

A race suit worn by Lando Norris in the 2022 F1 season looks set to raise thousands in a charity auction.

McLaren are auctioning off a race suit worn by Lando Norris as part of a charity auction, with the item looking set to raise thousands. Norris used the suit during the 2022 F1 season and hand-signed it ahead of its donation. The funds raise will support the Ann Van Dyk Cheetah Centre, a cheetah conservation and research centre. In acknowledgement of the gesture, a King Cheetah cub at the centre has been named McLaren. The highest bid on the suit currently stands at $4,500, with the auction set to end on 7 March at 12:00 (UTC - 05:00). Established in 1971, the Ann van Dyk Cheetah Centre – formerly known as the the De Wildt Cheetah Research Centre – aims to maintain a viable genetic pool of the cheetah, as well as the endangered African wild dog, for release back into their natural habitat as and when space becomes available.
