Max Verstappen has moved to just one point from an F1 race ban following a controversial Spanish Grand Prix collision with George Russell.

On the late safety car restart, on the hard tyres, Verstappen was swamped by Charles Leclerc and then pushed wide by Russell at Turn 1.

Nico Rosberg calls for Max Verstappen disqualification

Nico Rosberg has called for Max Verstappen to be disqualified from the Spanish Grand Prix, following his collision with George Russell. 

Verstappen went into the side of Russell on lap 64 at Turn 5 after being told by Red Bull to let the Mercedes driver go past for fourth place.

Max Verstappen unapologetic over George Russell move: 'Bring some tissues'

Max Verstappen has told George Russell to "next time bring some tissues" after Russell's furious comments over their Spanish Grand Prix collision.

Following the late restart, Verstappen was on the hard tyres and nearly lost the car out of the final corner, just hanging on.

2025 F1 Spanish Grand Prix - results

Oscar Piastri secured victory in the Spanish Grand Prix, converting pole position into his fifth win of the season. 

The McLaren driver controlled the race, whilst Lando Norris secured the Woking-based team a one-two.

George Russell voices Max Verstappen fury after Spanish GP 'antics'

George Russell has aimed criticism at Max Verstappen following their bizarre clash in the closing stages of the Spanish Grand Prix.

Following a late safety car restart, Russell attempted to overtake Verstappen into the opening corner as they battled with Charles Leclerc for the final spot on the podium.

Lando Norris fires ‘Mario Kart’ shot at Max Verstappen after shock incident

Lando Norris fired a post-race shot at Max Verstappen, following the Dutchman's shock Turn 5 collision with George Russell. 

Verstappen made a good start from third and overtook Norris into the first corner, although later fell back behind the Briton.
