Max Verstappen has been linked with potentially buying a MotoGP team, according to reports in Italian media.
The F1 world champion and his father Jos are reported to have held talks with Honda and Aprila to see if their satellite teams LCR and Trackhouse would be available for a sale, according to Sky Sports Italy.
Verstappen is known to be a MotoGP fan, and has expressed interest in trying Marc Marquez's bike, with the Spanish rider, a fellow Red Bull athlete, romping to a seventh premier class title this season after a devastating campaign for Ducati.
Verstappen is not the only figure from the world of F1 to have an interest in MotoGP, with Lewis Hamilton involved in talks to purchase the Gresini team in 2024.
F1 itself has an interest in MotoGP, with the former's owners recently completing a takeover from Dorna Sports to acquire control.
However, Verstappen's manager Raymond Vermeulen, appeared to pour cold water over the idea.
"Max is very committed to both car and motorcycle racing and, as is well known, is also heavily involved in the GT3 world through Verstappen.Com Racing," he told de Telegraaf.
"It is no secret that he has an interest in MotoGP, but taking over a team is not realistic at the moment. Everything would really have to fall into place. The chances of it happening anytime soon are minimal."
The news comes after former Haas boss Guenther Steiner completed his takeover of the KTM team ahead of this weekend's Catalan Grand Prix in Barcelona.
