Max Verstappen has had heavy praise heaped upon him by fellow F1 champion Nico Rosberg.
As the 2016 title-holder stood trackside over the recent Spanish Grand Prix weekend, he could not conceal his admiration for the way the Dutchman could get his Red Bull to "dance" on its rear.
Describing it as "magical" and "unbelievable", the German highlighted why the four-time champion's team-mates this season have struggled so considerably with the RB21.
The second seat has proven a difficult problem for the Milton Keynes-based team. Sergio Perez's declining performances forced the six-time constructors' champion to show him the door at the end of last year, but the situation has worsened this campaign.
First, Liam Lawson was drastically off the pace of Verstappen, to the extent Red Bull switched him with Yuki Tsunoda after just two rounds.
Whilst the Japanese driver has marked an improvement from Lawson, it is hard to argue he is operating at a higher level than Perez at the end of last year.
The nexus of the issue for Red Bull is how nervous and front-end inclined its recent cars have been. Designed to Verstappen's preferences and developed further towards his uniquely extreme driving style, it has been difficult to find a second driver who can tame the pointed nature of its cars.
In turn, it causes the car to step out at the rear and makes it difficult to hold on to. It is a considerable factor in the performance gap between the 65-time grand prix winner and his team-mates, and something Rosberg referred to as he looked on.
"Well, Verstappen is like a work of art, because his car is all over the place, and he's put so much oversteer into that car, but he holds it and dances on the rear within the limit," the former Williams and Mercedes driver said on Sky Sports F1.
"Watching Verstappen through there is just magical, it's really unbelievable.
"And you can see why Tsunoda just has such a problem with that because it's so hard... their car looks like a real handful."
