Former F1 driver Martin Brundle has warned Lando Norris that his "gut feeling" is that Oscar Piastri will return to form this weekend at the Brazilian Grand Prix.

Norris finds himself leading the drivers' title by just a point over Piastri ahead of the weekend, a lead which can quickly be eradicated by the Australian.

Piastri had led the standings by 34 points following the Dutch GP after the summer break, following Norris' surprise technical failure.

Since then, Norris has whittled away at Piastri's advantage, before taking the lead of the championship for the first time in 15 races in Mexico City last time out.

Not only has Norris found form, Piastri has gone in the other direction, with him being on a run of four races without a podium.

The Mexican GP was particularly disappointing for Piastri, as his pace was considerably slower than Norris' who dominated the event.

However, Brundle believes Piastri is set to bounce back in Brazil, although is unsure why he thinks that will happen.

Discussing Piastri's current form, Brundle said on Sky F1: "What will have worried him a lot is just his sheer lack of pace in Mexico. There have been a lot of other incidents, obviously Baku was a nightmare for him with the crashes and the jump start.

"But my gut feeling is, and I really can't explain why, but I think we're going to see Oscar back to his old form this weekend of earlier in the season.

"[Piastri] kind of has nothing to lose now, he's the hunter again. And I think, he comes to this track where he was on pole last year for the sprint.

"Doubling up on his problems is that I think Lando has hit a rich seam of form, and really looks accomplished and confident on the other side of the garage."
