Marshals send injured Ricciardo 'get well' message

The Australian has been taken to hospital for precautionary checks after a crash in Dutch GP practice.

Formula 1 marshals have sent Daniel Ricciardo a 'get well' message after the AlphaTauri driver crashed out of second practice for the Dutch Grand Prix. Ricciardo crashed at Turn 3 while avoiding the stricken McLaren of Oscar Piastri who had crashed seconds earlier, hitting the barriers nose first. But the eight-time F1 race winner failed to let go of the steering wheel upon impact and after undergoing checks at the Zandvoort medical centre and at hospital, it was confirmed Ricciardo had sustained a broken wrist. New Zealander Liam Lawson will replace the Australian to make his F1 debut. Before the news was announced, AlphaTauri shared an image of a note attached to the damaged car from the Zandvoort marshals, along with a Stroopwaffle. Check out the note below!
