Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko has provided an assessment of the team's upgrade package following Friday practice at the Hungaroring. The reigning world champions unveiled a significantly altered package at the event on Max Verstappen's car, with Sergio Perez having access to all of the new parts bar the area around the engine cover. Red Bull enjoyed a strong start to the year but has been caught by rival teams at recent rounds, winning just three out of the last seven grands prix. Having had two practice sessions to evaluate the new parts, Marko states the team is pleased with the data they've uncovered so far. “The upgrades are basically working,” Marko told Viaplay . “We are just fine-tuning and so far we are absolutely satisfied by what we see. “We are just a small bit behind [Lando] Norris on the low-fuel run. But we were, on the long runs, the fastest.” As a result, Marko is not expecting any surprises at Red Bull and has predicted the team will once again be in the fight for victory. “It was quite a big upgrade and it was working from the first moment,” he said. “That is already different to the other three upgrades we had. “They were much smaller but they didn't show much effect. We are again on the right direction and I'm sure we will find more tenths in the car. I think we can fight for the win here.”
