Following the huge success of 'F1 The Movie', Apple has made the decision to re-release the Hollywood blockbuster in IMAX cinemas from August 8.
The movie recently hit $552 million across the global box office, making it Brad Pitt's most successful movie.
In addition, the film has also become the highest-grossing original feature of the year and Apple’s largest film ever. In IMAX cinemas alone, the movie has made $85 million, the most of any movie in 2025 – it has been distributed by Warner Bros.
"Audiences around the world have embraced ‘F1 The Movie’ as an adrenaline-pumping, big screen experience, and its re-release in IMAX is a testament to the global popularity of the film,” said Matt Dentler, head of features at Apple Original Films.
"Joe, Jerry, Brad, Lewis and the visionary team behind ‘F1 The Movie’ have delivered a summer blockbuster that blends heart with action, and we can’t wait to give moviegoers another chance to see it in IMAX."
The movie follows the story of racing veteran Sonny Hayes, played by Pitt, who makes a remarkable return to F1 following a horrific injury after being hired to save the sport's backmarker, APX GP, from collapse.
"With ‘F1 The Movie,’ audiences around the world headed to theaters in droves to witness Formula 1 racing like never before, and it showed at the box office," Jeff Goldstein, President of Warner Bros. Pictures Global Distribution said in a statement.
"So, together with our partners at Apple Original Films and IMAX, we jumped at the opportunity to give fans another go-round — or to experience it for the first time — via IMAX’s premiere screens and sound, before summer is over."
