Lewis Hamilton makes iconic first appearance in Ferrari red

There have been plenty of mock-ups over the past 12 months but this is the real deal!

It is the image Lewis Hamilton and Ferrari fans have waited 12 months for. On February 1 last year, it was announced that after a long association with Mercedes, Lewis Hamilton would replace Carlos Sainz at the end of the coming season as a Ferrari driver. One year on, and after many mock-up photos of Hamilton in a Ferrari red race suit, the seven-time F1 champion has turned to social media to deliver the first true image of himself in the Scuderia's colours. The photo comes a day after Hamilton made his first trip to the Ferrari factory in Maranello where he embarked a on whirlwind tour of introductions, and a day ahead [on Wednesday] of his maiden drive for the team at its test track in Fiorano in the 2022 F1 car.
