Lewis Hamilton hints at problem after 'undriveable' Ferrari claim

Lewis Hamilton has claimed that his Ferrari was carrying a problem which was costing him performance on Friday at the Spanish Grand Prix.

Hamilton placed third in FP1 and then was 11th in the second session, some seven-tenths behind session leader Oscar Piastri. 

Although he felt the first session delivered a better feeling, Hamilton was relatively downbeat following the two sessions, as he claimed the SF-25 was carrying a downforce-costing issue, claiming at one point that he "could not drive the car" over the radio. 

"It was not a good day, and I wouldn't say that I am motivating the team at the moment," Hamilton explained.

"But you've just got to keep your head down, keep working away and just don't give up, you keep going, keep pushing and trying to focus on solving the issues.

"You arrive on a Friday, hoping for a good day, but then it doesn't go well, and honestly, I thought the car was going to be good today, but it wasn't. 

"It wasn't too bad in FP1, but FP2 was quite a lot worse, so that is definitely frustrating, but we had a problem which meant we were losing some downforce, so hopefully we can fix that for tomorrow."
