Charles Leclerc has revealed how he and Formula 1 rival Lewis Hamilton often discuss fashion away from Grand Prix racing. Hamilton is well-known for his love of fashion and is often present at shows such as the Met Gala, while he helped bring Tommy Hilfiger into F1 as a sponsor of the Mercedes team. While other drivers such as Max Verstappen or Lando Norris enjoy online racing - with the World Champion set to compete in the virtual 24 Hours of Le Mans later this month - Leclerc has revealed how he has tentatively followed in the seven-time champion's footsteps.
Leclerc and Hamilton on fashion
"I started a [fashion] project, but I've since stopped it," Leclerc told Italy's La Gazzetta Dello Sport . "Hopefully, I can pick it up again in the future. "Sometimes [Lewis and I] talk about the brands we like," added the Monegasque racer. "He has good taste and a lot of courage to show himself [in the paddock] with [his sometimes eye-catching attire]. "[Fashion] is expressing yourself without speaking, I've understood that since I've been travelling around the world for Formula 1. "I found out that dressing well has a different meaning in different cultures and traditions. "Fashion really started to interest me in [around] 2017. "I started visiting fashion shows and becoming an ambassador for Armani - and so that's how I got more into the fashion world."
