Ferrari driver Leclerc doesn't hold back on Sainz rivalry

While Charles Leclerc is hoping new teammate Carlos Sainz will help lead Ferrari forward after a disappointing 2020 campaign, he knows the Spaniard will do all that he can to beat him on the track.

No longer partnered by Sebastian Vettel, Charles Leclerc is looking forward to working together with new teammate Carlos Sainz, though he knows neither will take a step back when it comes to battling on the track.

Ferrari presented their team on Friday ahead of the new season, though we'll have to wait until until March 10 to get a look at the SF21. Leclerc is looking forward to helping the team bounce back after a disappointing campaign, and while he expects he'll work in harmony with Sainz, that doesn't mean the two will move over for one another once the racing gets underway.

"It's very clear in our mind that we need to push for the team," Leclerc told RacingNews365.com along with other members of the media. "This is always the case anyway.

"Carlos wants to beat me, I want to beat him too. And then once we're on track we'll try to be careful whenever we fight each other. I think what's most important is that we manage to separate what happens on track and off track. And every time we are outside the car, we need to work together to try and push the team forward.

"I think is the fine line that every teammates needs to find. Carlos is very competitive but he is also here to benefit the team as am I."
