Leclerc makes dramatic exit out of top three during Bahrain GP

The Ferrari driver retired on lap 40 with a technical problem on his car while running in the top three.

Charles Leclerc has made a dramatic exit out of the Bahrain Grand Prix after suffering from a technical problem with his car. The Ferrari driver was running in third before the car stopped on the exit of Turn 13 on lap 41, the onboard showing the Ferrari driver appearing to lose drive. The team changed two critical power unit components prior to the Grand Prix - the control electronics and energy store - after they reported that they were not happy with some parameter. A team spokesperson confirmed: "We seem to have lost the engine on Charles' car."
