Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz have both been requested to report to the stewards following qualifying for the Canadian Grand Prix.

It was a session of mixed fortunes for the Ferrari duo; Leclerc had already received engine penalties prior to qualifying, meaning that he will start the race from the back of the grid.

Sainz, meanwhile, qualified in P3, behind pole-sitter Max Verstappen and second-placed Fernando Alonso.

However, both Leclerc and Sainz have been called to the stewards for allegedly driving unnecessarily slowly during the early minutes of qualifying.

Each driver and a team representative will be required to see the stewards at 18:30 local time (23:30 BST).
