There is a high chance of showers during the Austrian Grand Prix on Sunday which could cause havoc as F1 embarks on its second weekend at the Red Bull Ring. Temperatures will be cooler than last week which will affect the way the teams set up their cars and how the drivers approach practice and qualifying. During the free practice sessions on Friday it will most likely remain dry. It will be cloudy with occasional sun and a maximum temperature of 22 degrees.
Friday at the Austrian Grand Prix
Friday practice is set to be a dry day with the temperature peaking at 22 degrees celcius. There could be a lot of cloud cover although when the sun breaks from the clouds, it will cause track temperatures to significantly increase.
Saturday at the Austrian Grand Prix
Saturday will be the warmest day at round nine of the 2021 Formula 1 World Championship. There will be large sunny spells as temperatures reach 26 degrees celcius. The chance rain is very low, but the sudden rise in temperatures could cause a short, sharp shower. Saturday will be similar to the majority of last week's weather in Spielberg when the rain never came.
Sunday at the Austrian Grand Prix
The biggest chance of rain comes on Sunday. The Weeronline weather model currently gives a 70% chance of rain at the Red Bull Ring during the race which begins at 14:00 (UK time). Due to the chance of showers, the air temperature will be a lot cooler than the previous day at 22 degrees celcius..
