Lap count for each F1 team after Day 1 of pre-season testing

Day one of testing in Bahrain is in the books - but how many laps did each team complete on Thursday?

Formula 1 teams completed 1,276 laps of the Bahrain International Circuit on the opening day of 2023 pre-season testing. With eight-and-a-half hours of running, split into two chunks of four hours and 15 minutes, teams had plenty of chance and plenty of different conditions to hit the track from the blazing hot of midday, to golden hour and then finally into the night. As the graphic below shows, Red Bull completed the most laps with 157 on a trouble-free day for the World Champions, with Max Verstappen behind the wheel for the entire day. He logged more laps by himself - coming in at 527.991 miles - than any other team could do so with their two drivers. Closest challengers were Mercedes on 152 (83 for Lewis Hamilton, 69 for George Russell) while Aston Martin and McLaren brought up the rear. Both endured challenging days, with Aston bringing out the red flag and then losing time with a broken floor while McLaren struggled with wheel-brow issues which hampered Lando Norris during his afternoon shift.
