Lando Norris has issued a response to his F1 critics following a dominant drive to victory at the São Paulo Grand Prix.
Norris secured his seventh win of the season on Sunday to extend his championship lead to 24 points over team-mate Oscar Piastri.
With just three rounds remaining in the season, Norris is in a strong position to seal his maiden F1 title in the coming weeks.
The Briton has outscored Piastri at each of the last six grands prix.
When asked has caused his late run of strong form, Norris said: “Just ignore everyone who talks crap about you!
“Just focus on yourself. McLaren is doing an amazing job, giving me a great car.
“We're pushing hard every single weekend, and I'm pushing hard away from the track.
“It's rewarding. It doesn't come easy, that's for sure. And to be honest, I don't think we were the quickest out there on track today, but glad to take home the win.”
Norris beat Kimi Antonelli and Max Verstappen to the chequered flag, with the latter rising from the pit lane to third.
Although the Dutchman's championship hunt appears to be hanging by a thread, Norris is still cautious over Verstappen's pace.
“It's a great win, but to be honest, seeing how quick Max was today, I'm pretty disappointed we weren't quicker.
“That's where my mind's at. I'll probably go to see the team, congratulate them and see where we weren't quick enough.
“We'll see what we can do. Obviously not a long way to go, but it can change so quickly, like we've seen today already.”
