Jos Verstappen: Max and Red Bull 'better than a dream'

The Dutchman took an eighth victory in a row in Belgium.

Former F1 driver Jos Verstappen has labelled son Max's partnership with Red Bull as "better than a dream" after the Dutchman secured an eighth consecutive victory. Two-time champion Verstappen Jr started sixth on the grid having taken a five-place penalty for a new gearbox but had returned to the head of the field by the end of lap 17. He eventually defeated teammate Sergio Perez by 22.3 seconds to open up a 125-point advantage in the Drivers' standings. "Spa is a special circuit and then to win here is very special in front of all the Dutch fans," Verstappen Sr told ServusTV. "Also how he won - that is very impressive and satisfying." "Of course, you need a good car and he has that at Red Bull - that's incredible. It's even better than a dream."

Show who's best

"Max also wants to show who is the best and he had that again," added Verstappen Sr. "He is right on top of it but he has to be. "It's really hard to always be there. Every practice, qualifying and race again. But that's what he's doing at the moment."
