Johnny Herbert has backed Max Verstappen to follow Christian Horner out of Red Bull by completing a bombshell move to Mercedes.

Horner's departure from Red Bull was announced on Wednesday, having been its team principal for over 20 years.

Crucial Christian Horner difference highlighted in new Red Bull boss

Long-time Red Bull driver Sebastien Buemi has highlighted a crucial difference between Christian Horner and Laurent Mekies.

It was announced on Wednesday morning that Horner and Red Bull had parted ways after more than 20 years together, with Mekies having received a promotion from Racing Bulls.

Fernando Alonso criticises major F1 claim: 'It is bullshit'

Fernando Alonso believes the idea that drivers can make the difference in wet grands prix to achieve better results is "bullshit."

Alonso finished ninth in the British Grand Prix, a chaotic wet-dry-wet-dry event at Silverstone, where team-mate Lance Stroll challenged for a podium before falling away to finish in seventh place.

Helmut Marko confirms 'intense' Yuki Tsunoda discussions

Red Bull motorsport advisor Helmut Marko has confirmed that "intensive discussions" have taken place with Yuki Tsunoda.

The Japanese driver has endured a challenging start to life with the Milton Keynes-based outfit, having scored just seven points in his 10 grands prix for Red Bull.

Franco Colapinto concedes 'talks' taking place as Alpine rumours intensify

Franco Colapinto has conceded that "talks" are taking place over his Alpine future, but that he is "not concerned" that he could be dropped.

The Argentine driver was drafted in to replace Jack Doohan after the Miami GP, with acting Alpine boss Flavio Briatore giving Colapinto three major instructions to 'be fast, don't crash, and score points.'

FIA president accuses rival of being 'disconnected' after 'terror' gibe

Mohammed Ben Sulayem has accused his rival in the FIA presidential race of being "disconnected" following claims that his reign is one of "terror".

Tim Mayer, who served as an F1 steward for 15 years before he was dismissed by Ben Sulayem in November last year, announced earlier this month he intended to stand against the Emirati.
