Andretti has announced that Jake Dennis has signed a multi-year contract extension with the American outfit in Formula E.

The Season 9 world champion's deal was set to expire at the end of the current season, but he will now enter Gen4 with Andretti who are expected to become a Nissan customer team.

Dennis is currently in his sixth season with the American squad having joined in Season 7, when Andretti ran in partnership with BMW Motorsport.

He has established himself as one of the top drivers in the championship, and has very much been Andretti's team leader in recent years.

"I’m absolutely thrilled to be signing a multi-year deal with Andretti Global," said Dennis. "For me, it made perfect sense to continue our partnership and my career with the team, a team which I’ve been with from the start of my Formula E career.

"The belief the team has shown in me over the years has been incredible, and that trust means a huge amount. We’ve built something really strong together, and I’m proud to continue that journey with a group of people I know so well and genuinely enjoy working with.

"There have been so many great memories together, and I’m confident we can continue our success into the future."

The continuation of Dennis and Andretti's relationship will see him lead its charge into Gen4, with the current Gen3 regulation cycle to conclude at the end of this season.

Without Dennis, Andretti would not have achieved the success it has across the Gene era in Formula E, something team principal Roger Griffiths recognises.

"I am beyond pleased to be able to make this announcement," said Griffiths. "At the time, when the team, along with BMW, initially partnered with Jake, we never could have imagined how the relationship would develop.

"Jake has been an integral part of Andretti Formula E’s transformation into one of the series’ leading teams of today. His commitment to us, his belief in the team and ours in him, is one of the key reasons for all of the success we have been fortunate enough to have experienced together.

"We look forward to closing out the current season as strong as we started it before transitioning to Season 13 together."
