The 2023 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix has been thrown into doubt owing to heavy rainfall in northern Italy, with suggestions that the event may have to be cancelled.
Several areas surrounding Imola are currently subject to intense rainfall, and the heavy rain is expected to continue until approximately Wednesday evening.
Sources present at Imola were told to leave the circuit on Tuesday, although this was believed to be a precautionary measure rather than due to any immediate risk.
The circuit remains closed until further notice, and the below images and videos from in and around Imola illustrate the seriousness of the situation.
On Wednesday 17th May, F1 officially called the Grand Prix off owing to the conditions, meaning the 2023 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix will not go ahead this weekend.
