Haas has confirmed that Nico Hulkenberg is to miss media day ahead of the Qatar Grand Prix through illness. The German racer will not be present on Thursday at the Lusail International Circuit due to a cold, with Haas opting to protect him for the remainder of the weekend. "Nico will be missing media day due to a cold, therefore he has no availability for today," read a team statement. "This is purely a preventative measure ahead of the weekend." Hulkenberg finished in eighth place last time out in Las Vegas, with the four points moving the team back above Alpine into sixth place in the constructors' championship - with the positions worth millions of dollars in prize money at the end of the season.
