Nico Hulkenberg has issued a short message to his former Team Principal Guenther Steiner following confirmation that the Italian has left Haas.
The US-owned squad announced on Wednesday that Steiner had departed the team ahead of the 2024 season.
Steiner had led the team ever since it joined the grid in 2016 but had also been part of the project several years prior to its F1 debut.
In his place arrives Ayao Komatsu who has been promoted from his Director of Engineering role.
Hulkenberg spent just one season racing under Steiner in F1 after returning to the sport last year in place of Mick Schumacher.
It marked a difficult campaign for Haas, who finished the year at the bottom of the Constructors' Championship for the second time in three years.
Following team-mate Kevin Magnussen's social media post regarding Steiner, Hulkenberg released a short message of his own.
“Thanks, Guenther. For your trust, friendship and the opportunity to go racing in F1 again,” he wrote.
“You’re definitely a character... all the best!”
