Horner explains why F1 drivers at new teams have struggled

Red Bull F1 team principal Christian Horner explains the reason for Sergio Perez's struggles during the first part of the season.

Christian Horner, the team principal of the Red Bull Racing F1 team, says understanding how to work the tyres is key in helping a driver adapt With several drivers swapping teams prior to the start of the 2021 F1 season, an interesting subplot to this season has been how each driver has fared with respect to adapting to their new environment. Horner shares what has been key in helping each driver get up to speed. "Every car harmonises differently with the tyres," Horner told Auto Motor und Sport. "These cars are extremely complicated. It takes time to understand what you need to do with the car to influence the tyres to work properly. With the exception of Carlos Sainz, each of the switchers had their problems."
