Horner confirms timeline of 'absolute commitment' to Red Bull

It seems Christian Horner is contracted to Red Bull longer than Max Verstappen!

Christian Horner has confirmed he remains committed to Red Bull through to the end of this decade. It was widely known that Horner was contracted with the team he has now served for two decades, into the new power unit era that commences in 2026. Over his time at Milton Keynes, Horner has built Red Bull into a championship-winning outfit, with eight drivers' titles - four apiece for Sebastian Vettel and Max Verstappen - and six constructors' crowns to its name. Horner is also currently overseeing the most significant change in Red Bull's history, with the team developing its own powertrains for the new regulations that come into force next year, rather than being a customer and reliant on other manufacturers. But as to how long Horner remains committed to the project has not come to light. Asked by RacingNews365 , in speaking with selected media, whether his commitment to Red Bull was unwavering, Horner replied: "Yeah. I've got a commitment to Red Bull to the end of the decade. My commitment remains absolute."

Horner 'thick skinned'

Last year, Horner went through a turbulent period after accusations of inappropriate conduct were made against him earlier in the year by a female Red Bull employee. Horner was eventually cleared but only after cynics suggested he should quit the team. The 51-year-old remained resolute. As to the leadership lessons he learned from the experience, he said: "You're always learning in life, always applying lessons. The day you think you know it all, or you're not learning, is the day you're going backwards. "It's the same in life, it's the same with the car, it's the same with everything, that you're always learning, always applying lessons that you've learned to try and do things better in the future." Horner was also in the firing line of his fellow bosses, with the likes of Mercedes' Toto Wolff and McLaren's Zak Brown taking pot shots. As to whether he was hurt personally by the comments at the time, he said: "I don't think you can take these things personally. "You have to be pretty thick skinned in this business, and you just have to keep focused on your beliefs and commitments. "We have a tremendous workforce, we have tremendous loyalty within the workforce, and passion for what people do. "Without that passion, you wouldn't achieve the kind of results that we have."
