Production on Brad Pitt F1 film 'shut down'

The upcoming Formula 1 film starring Brad Pitt has been impacted by the SAG-AFTRA strike action.

The upcoming Formula 1 film starring Brad Pitt has been put on hold due to the ongoing strikes involving actor and writer unions in the United States. Several high profile projects have been put on hold after the the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) went on strike for the first time since 1980 in a dispute over pay and use of Artificial Intelligence in productions. During the UK premiere of Christopher Nolan's ' Oppenheimer' several actors walked out and had media commitments cancelled after SAG-AFTRA voted in favour of strike action. Movies and TV show productions have already been slowing down due to many screenwriters being on strike since May, with the actor strike likely to impact the completion of more Hollywood films. For the upcoming F1 film directed by Joseph Kosinski, production has been put on hold due to actors including Pitt being part of the SAG-AFTRA union. "All filming is shut down for now," a source close to the production told NBC News . "Brad had really enjoyed himself, but he is definitely a very loyal member of the union."

Film release likely pushed back until strike action resolved

The untitled F1 movie recently filmed during the British Grand Prix weekend at Silverstone, with a mock 11th garage for a team known as 'APX GP' was made and scenes were shot on track in between official sessions. Pitt and co-star Damson Idris were also seen throughout the weekend filming scenes, notably on the grid prior to the race itself. While the film does not have a release date, it is likely that filming and any activity will be pushed back even further until there is a resolution.
