Isack Hadjar triggered a red flag in the closing minutes of second practice after becoming helplessly beached in the gravel.
The Racing Bulls driver span on the exit of Turn 3 which sent him off at Turn 4, where contact was made with the barrier.
However, due to the contact having been with the side of his car, the French-Algerian was able to continue driving after sustaining minimal damage.
Unfortunately, he was forced to come to a stop in the gravel whilst he waited for the track to become clear, so that he could safely rejoin.
Once all traffic had passed and the circuit was safe to rejoin, the rear of his car became beached with just over six minutes remaining.
It led to a short red flag whilst his car was recovered, with it having been a McLaren one-two at the time of the stoppage.
