At long last, Mercedes has confirmed its driver line-up for the 2026 F1 season.
George Russell and Kimi Antonelli will remain in place for another season together, ending the speculation that has long surrounded the seats.
Max Verstappen was linked with a switch to Mercedes for next year when fresh technical regulations will come into play.
However, the situation cooled towards the end of the summer break, after which it became obvious that Russell and Antonelli would remain in the seats.
The matter was finally put to bed on the eve of the United States Grand Prix weekend, with Mercedes declaring the pair would remain with the squad in 2026.
But was it the right decision for the team? Should it have replaced one of its drivers - or even more dramatically, replaced both?
