Hamilton risks grid penalty for Abu Dhabi practice infringement

Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton has been put under investigation for failing to slow during a red flag in FP3.

Lewis Hamilton has been put under investigation by the stewards for failing to slow during a red flag in Free Practice 3 at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The red flag came out during the session due to debris needing to be picked up, after Pierre Gasly suffered a puncture exiting Turn 10. Hamilton appeared to pass Lando Norris and Kevin Magnussen on the way into Turn 5 when the red flag came out during FP3. Previously drivers have been given a grid drop for failing to slow under yellow flag conditions, including Max Verstappen at the Qatar race last year. Update: Hamilton escapes grid penalty for Abu Dhabi
