The stewards at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix have summoned Lewis Hamilton and Lando Norris for an incident during free practice 1.
The seven-time F1 drivers' champion, who is racing for Mercedes for the last time this weekend, was slowly approaching the final corner of the Yas Marina Circuit when the McLaren came up behind.
There was a considerable delta in speed between the two and Norris had to back off, locking up a tyre in the process.
It was immediately noticed by the officials, with confirmation shortly coming through that the matter will be further looked into once FP1 has concluded.
Occurrences of such incidents in practice rarely receive a penalty, and Hamilton will likely get a warning or reprimand if found to be at fault.
Further investigation was warranted by the stewards, who have requested the attendance of the two drivers and their team representatives at 1500 local time.
