Lewis Hamilton has officially arrived at Maranello for his first week as a Ferrari driver, with the seven-time world champion having posted a photo at the iconic venue.

It is a busy week for Hamilton, with RacingNews365 understanding that he will complete a private test on Wednesday.

This week will mark the 105-time race winner's first chance to meet the entire Maranello-based team, as well as important senior figures.

Not since joining Mercedes ahead of the 2013 season has Hamilton faced such a moment, with his first week as a Ferrari driver being one of global interest and intrigue.

His first visit to Maranello marks Hamilton's chance to see where he will be working and who he will be working with, in his bid for an eighth drivers' title and a first in red.

A factory tour? That's part of it, too, of course. Where does the work on the cars take place? Where are the offices where clever concepts are thought of? Where is the espresso machine and where is the simulator? Some questions more important than others!

The overall point, though, is clear. It is a very new experience for Hamilton, with Ferrari being the first team based outside the United Kingdom that he has raced for in F1.

Hamilton is known not to be the biggest simulator fan, but this week he will struggle to escape it. It is a simple way to at least already get familiar with the steering wheel Ferrari uses and to prepare himself for his tests this week in an actual car.

It became clear last week that Hamilton will step into a Ferrari for the first time on the track this Wednesday.

The setting is Ferrari's own Fiorano circuit and he will reportedly step into the 2022 F1-75, the first car under the current ground effect regulations.

That test is not even so much to get to know the car as to learn Ferrari's methods and protocols. They are the first important moments to build a good working relationship with his new engineer Riccardo Adami, who also previously worked with Sebastian Vettel and Carlos Sainz.

Before Hamilton can actually take a seat in a Ferrari F1 car, he will also undergo a seat fitting.

An intense week, but also an important one. One thing is certain. He will be welcomed in like a hero.
