Lewis Hamilton has fired a warning to his Formula 1 rivals, stating that he is determined to “kill every other team” en route to success.

Hamilton is currently taking part in his final F1 season with Mercedes ahead of his switch to Ferrari next year.

The seven-time world champion has enjoyed unparalleled success with the Brackley-based squad, winning six titles from 2014 to 2020.

However, Mercedes has slipped back in the pecking order since the introduction of new technical regulations in 2022, with Hamilton’s last race win coming well over two years ago.

Speaking to GQ Sports, Hamilton asserted that he is not downbeat over his current slump in results.

“I’ve manifested everything I’ve ever wanted to do,” Hamilton said.

“I do it every year. Working with Tommy. Winning a world championship. Breaking records. And so I’ve had some other plans for the future.”

When asked if he manifested his Ferrari move, Hamilton replied: “Yeah. I think perhaps more unconscious manifesting from the early period of my life.

“But it’s always been up there for me. For now, though, I’m gonna lift Mercedes as high as I can this year.”

Hamilton's warning

Hamilton is aiming to end his Mercedes tenure on a high and strike a dagger through the competition before he departs for Ferrari.

“The way that I exist, I don’t look at it as on the way out,” he said.

“My commitment to the team is exactly the same as previous years: I want to kill every other team.

“We want to beat them. My approach remains the same, right till the end.

“And can’t let too much of my mind be distracted by what’s afterwards. You can’t really tap into that until next year.”
