Lewis Hamilton and Sergio Perez have been eliminated in SQ2 during qualifying for the sprint at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix.

The Mercedes driver completed his final run, but was only quick enough for P11. Perez, meanwhile pitted early and did not get a final push lap.

Having been quicker than team-mate Max Verstappen during SQ1, the Mexican's warm-up lap was not quick enough to cross the start/finish line in time for his final run.

He failed to reach Q3 at his home grand prix last weekend and is fighting for his Red Bull future.

Hamilton, meanwhile, fell in Q1 of qualifying for the United States Grand Prix to start the current F1 triple-header.
