Garcia seals F1 Academy title at US Grand Prix - but is unlikely to return

The first-ever F1 Academy champion has been crowned at the United States Grand Prix support event.

Marta Garcia has sealed the 2023 F1 Academy title at the United States Grand Prix with a win from pole - but will not return in 2024. Needing only a top three finish from the first of three races on the support package for the Formula 1 race, Garcia dominated from pole position to become the inaugural champion of the F1-backed all-female series. The win was Garcia's seventh of the season in her Prema Racing machine and third in a row, having claimed success in Races 2 and 3 at Paul Ricard last time out. Garcia defeated Alpine F1 junior Abbi Pulling in the Austin race to seal her title, and while a champion is not prohibited from defending her title, Spaniard Garcia is likely to move up to the Formula Regional European - the step below Formula 3.
