Red Bull junior driver Arvid Lindblad has completed a surprise F1 test, in a TPC test (Testing of Previous Cars) at Imola with Racing Bulls.
Lindblad recently earned the required points to obtain an FIA super licence, allowing him to compete in F1 should a move to the pinnacle of motorsport take place.
He achieved this earlier this year by winning the Formula Regional Championship in New Zealand, where he won the title with ease.
This season, Lindblad is stepping up to Formula 2 with Campos Racing after competing for Prema in Formula 3 last year.
The 17-year-old is viewed as a huge star of the future by Red Bull team principal Christian Horner and advisor Helmut Marko, with both often praising the young driver.
As confirmed to RacingNews365 by a Red Bull team representative, his second taste of F1 came at Imola on Wednesday, where he drove Racing Bull's 2023 car – the AT04. He first drove an F1 car last year in a show run, Red Bull's 2012 title-winning car.
Lindblad completed a two-day test at the home of the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, as Red Bull continue to prepare him for a possible future in F1.
With the launch of Racing Bull's VCARB02 – its 2025 car – Lindblad's debut went largely unnoticed; however, he is a serious option for an F1 seat next year.
