Fred Vasseur has insisted that questions around Lewis Hamilton's Ferrari form must "stop" following a positive Emilia Romagna Grand Prix.

Although he had qualified in 12th place, Hamilton rallied in the race itself at Imola to finish fourth, just over a second behind third-placed Oscar Piastri.

Hamilton felt that if he had had another five laps to attack the McLaren driver, he could have secured a podium finish on an afternoon he banked his best GP result for the Scuderia.

Hamilton's struggles to adapt to Ferrari have been well-versed, but Ferrari boss Vasseur insists that questions about it should not be just limited to Hamilton, but other drivers as well, with Ferrari refugee Carlos Sainz also being vocal about his struggles to adapt to Williams.

"You have to stop this," Vasseur replied to media including RacingNews365, when presented with Hamilton's upbeat assessment of his race.

"It is not that he is doing a good weekend and everything is perfect, and when he is not having a good weekend, it is a disaster.

"We just have to take it easy and stay calm and work together. I was pleased with the job the team did, not just Lewis, but Charles, the strategy and the mechanics. It is the only way for us to come back and catch up to the front.

"We have to work as a team and put all the efforts and resources together to catch up."

Vasseur was then further asked about Hamilton's best showing in a grand prix for Ferrari, and once again demanded a stop to such questions.

"You have to stop," he said.

"Every single driver is working on himself, working with the team, trying to develop something, trying to do a better job.

"It is not that on a Saturday evening he is not well prepared, not in a good condition with the car, and then on Sunday he is a magician and everything is perfect. We just have to stay calm.

"Obviously, he did a very good job in China, did a very good job at Imola and step-by-step, we will get there."
