RacingNews365 has discovered that Nissan's Oliver Rowland has been ruled out of this weekend's Portland E-Prix, effectively ending his title chances.

The Nissan driver sits fourth in the drivers' championship and is 36 points behind leader Nick Cassidy.

Rowland has enjoyed an excellent season which has included a victory in Misano and six podiums, cementing an emphatic return to Nissan.

Nissan reserve driver Caio Collet will replace the Briton in both races at the Portland International Raceway this weekend.

An official statement released by Nissan stated: "Oliver Rowland will not compete in this weekend's Portland E-Prix double-header due to illness. The team's reserve and simulator driver, Caio Collet, will step into the #22 instead.

"The whole team wishes Oli a quick recovery and to see him back in action in London next month."
