Former Ferrari chairman Luca di Montezemolo has been appointed a director of McLaren Group Holdings Limited, according to new documents.
Long-time Ferrari man di Montezemolo was responsible for building the F1 team in the all-conquering outfit by hiring Jean Todt, Michael Schumacher, and Ross Brawn in the 1990s, having previously enjoyed success with the team with Niki Lauda in the 1970s.
He left Ferrari in September 2014, after tensions with FIAT CEO Sergio Marchionne, who would replace him.
According to documents posted on Companies House in the United Kingdom, di Montezemolo was appointed as a director of McLaren Group Holdings Limited on Friday, 27th June.
Other figures listed as current directors include Paul Walsh, who serves as the executive chairman of the McLaren Group, with figures such as Zak Brown employed as CEO of McLaren Racing.
McLaren Group Holdings Limited controls the Automotive side of the business, and has a small shareholding in the McLaren Group, under which the racing teams fall.
As well as the joining of di Montezemolo, Companies House also reports the resignations of three figures from the Middle East, with the McLaren Group owned by Mumtalakat - the Bahraini sovereign wealth fund.
