24 Hours of Le Mans

Former F1 driver suffers first big crash at 2025 Le Mans 24 Hours

There is just over one hour on the clock at Le Mans, but the first big incident has befallen a former F1 driver.

Former F1 racer Paul di Resta has suffered the first big incident of the 2025 Le Mans 24 Hours in the #93 Peugeot machine.

Approaching the end of the first hour, di Resta was making his way through back-marker LMGT3 traffic of the #150 Ferrari machine at the Porsche Curves.

However, the former Force India and Williams F1 racer lost control of his Hypercar, sliding in the tyre barrier after a trip through the gravel, destroying the engine cover and rear of the car.

He made it back to the pits where the team was able to repair the damage and get the Scot back into the race.

After 20 laps, the #5 Porsche Penske maintains the lead it earned on the first lap after the first of over 30 expected pit-stops through the 24 hours.
