Formula E has announced a complete schedule change for the second day of its Shanghai E-Prix, due to substantial rainfall being forecasted for the Chinese region.
For the third host city in succession, rain is set to play a significant factor for the all-electric series, which has brought forward all Sunday sessions in an attempt to maximise track action.
Maximilian Günther was victorious in the opening race in Shanghai, as Jean-Eric Vergne secured DS Penske's first Formula E one-two finish.
The weather will flip everything on Sunday, with rain on the opening day in Tokyo a fortnight ago having seen qualifying cancelled.
A Formula E spokesperson said: "As the inclement weather forecast for Sunday’s race is anticipated to impact the current sporting schedule for Round 11, 2025 Hankook Shanghai E-Prix, together with the FIA, Teams and Manufacturers we have taken the decision to amend the event timings in order to allow maximum track sessions to go ahead, taking into consideration rain and light conditions.
"The safety and experience of our fans, guests and personnel are our highest priority as we aim to put on the best racing spectacle possible here in China. We thank the organisers and local authorities for their prompt and unified response and we look forward to another successful Hankook Shanghai E-Prix at the Shanghai International Circuit tomorrow."
