F1 has provided a first glimpse at the APX GP car to be used in the film starring Brad Pitt.

The project, overseen by Lewis Hamilton and his Dawn Apollo Films production company and directed by Top Gun: Maverick's Joseph Kosinski, has begun on-track filming at Silverstone, with scenes set to continue to be captured across the British Grand Prix weekend.

Filming will also take place at other events on this season's calendar, with Pitt and Damson Idris portraying teammates Sonny Hayes and Joshua Pearce.

First images of the garage set-up at Silverstone began to emerge on Wednesday [July 5], with the team situated between Mercedes and Ferrari.

But F1 has now provided an image of the APX GP car - a Mercedes-modified F2 car - on track ahead of media day.
