FIA promise swift changes after Ocon pit lane near-miss

The FIA have reacted to the Stewards recommendations, following the Azerbaijan GP pit lane near-miss involving Alpine's Esteban Ocon.

The FIA have promised to address the issues which caused a pit lane near-miss at the Formula 1 Azerbaijan GP. With Esteban Ocon attempting to make his only pit stop on the final lap of the race, the Alpine driver was faced with a crowd of people preparing for the post-race parc ferme setup. Ocon was forced to brake to avoid the group, and no contact was made with anybody within the crowd. Following the incident, the FIA parc ferme personnel were summoned to the Stewards to review the incident, after which the Stewards instructed the FIA to take "immediate steps" to reconsider the end-of-race protocols . Following the Stewards decision, the FIA told RacingNews365.com that they will be "updating the relevant procedures ahead of the next event to ensure that this situation does not reoccur in the future."
