Aston Martin driver Lance Stroll has been fined €500 for twice speeding in the pit lane during second practice for the Miami Grand Prix. The Canadian was found to have breached the speed limit on two occasions, though punishments during practice carry less weight than in qualifying or the race. The circuit, based around the Hard Rock Stadium which plays home to the Miami Dolphins NFL Franchise, features a quirky pit entry that sees cars leave the track before the flat-out right-hand kink that completes the lap before drivers are faced with a chicane in the pits to help reduce speed. But Stroll was twice unable to scrub off the required speed, travelling just 0.3kph over the 80kph limit for the first transgression. The first stewards' report read: "Car 18 [Stroll] exceeded the pit lane speed limit which is set at 80kph for this event by 0.3 kph." The second infringement saw Stroll breach the speed limit by 3.5kph, with this carrying a more weighted fine of €400, compared to €100 for the first.
